Highlights of the 2010 National Memorial Day Parade:

  • A salute to the legacy and sacrifice of the United States Marine Corps.
  • Special recognition of the 65th anniversary of victory in World War II and the 60th anniversary of the start of the Korean War.

General Peter Pace - 16th Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the first Marine to be appointed to the U.S. Military's highest-ranking office.
   
Gary Sinise - Star of CSI: New York known for his role as Lt. Dan in Forrest Gump. Co-founder of Operation Iraqi Children, which helps Americans donate school supplies to Iraqi schools. His band, the Lt. Dan Band, has also played for American service members around the world.
   
Joe Mantegna - Tony Award-winning star of Glengarry Glen Ross and current lead in Criminal Minds on CBS. In 2004 was named Chairperson for the National Salute to Hospitalized Veterans by the Department of Veterans Affairs.
   
R. Lee Ermey - Retired Marine Corps drill instructor and Vietnam veteran known for his subsequent roles in dozens of films, including Full Metal Jacket and Toy Story. He is the host of Mail Call and Lock N Load with R. Lee Ermey on HISTORY (History Channel).
   
Hugh O'Brian - Actor best known for his role as Wyatt Earp on television, previously served as the youngest Marine Corps drill instructor during World War II.
   
Bob Feller - Major League Baseball Hall of Fame pitcher and veteran of the USS Alabama in World War II. Despite being one of the game's premier pitchers, Feller immediately enlisted in the Navy the day following the attack on Pearl Harbor, serving in combat about the Alabama in the Atlantic and Pacific Theaters of the war.

National Moment of Remembrance
3 PM - Memorial Day


The parade comes to a complete pause at 3:00 PM to commemorate the National Moment of Remembrance, during which acclaimed Irish Tenor Anthony Kearns performs "Amazing Grace."
